Hello!
My name is Daniel Evans. This is my personal blog — ideas and sports-AI projects I can’t prioritise at work.
The premise: elite sport is downstream of the same AI methods driving everything else. Alignment, post-training, evaluation, interpretability — the techniques shaping frontier models will shape how we coach, monitor, and develop athletes. My goal is to stay present with emerging themes in AI and work out how they adapt to sport, before the field has to catch up.
The notes on this site are the substrate. Each one summarises a topic from the AI literature and applies the sports lens where it lands. Format and structure are still evolving.
If you find a note useful, broken, or wrong, I’d like to know.
- Open questions — what the corpus says is still unsettled, organised by topic
- Method — how the research pipeline works, what it does well, where it fails
